Second Graders Earn Their Green Thumbs

Second graders learn the academics behind planting peas in their school gardens.

Second graders received a "hands on" lesson in one of Waxhaw Elementary's learning gardens. Mr. Loseke, a master gardener (and a Waxhaw Elementary parent) presented to the second grade classes. Each class got their own class garden bed. Mr. Loseke taught the students how to grow peas. Did you know that growing peas involves science, math, social studies, AND reading skills?
