Jason Marton takes oath of office for UCPS Board of Education
The Union County Board of Education has a new face – Jason Marton took the oath of office during the board’s regular Tuesday night (April 14, 2015) meeting held at Weddington Elementary School.
Union County Clerk of Court J.R. Rowell administered the Oath of Office before Marton’s family and friends.
Marton was selected by the board at its March 10 meeting to fill the unexpired seat of Marce Savage, who resigned Jan. 31, 2015. Marton will represent District 6.
Currently the director of Advisory Services with RGP of Charlotte, Marton has been a management consultant for 16 years.
Marton said he wants to ensure the school board’s focus remains on the students and teachers, and that this is accomplished by working, communicating and engaging with the community.
He added that being chosen for the board isn’t just about representing District 6, but it’s also about working to ensure that Union County Public Schools is great for every student and every school.
