Piedmont Alum Shares Knowledge of Japan

Did you know that Ancient Japanese blackened their teeth as a sign of beauty? This was just one of the interesting tidbits that Tori Fuchs, Piedmont Middle School Alum and daughter of Mrs. Gwinn, came and shared with sixth grade Social Studies classes. Tori is currently a Senior at University of North Carolina Greensboro where she is double majoring in Asian Culture and Graphic Design. She was able to attend a school in Japan during a study abroad opportunity where she increased her knowledge of Japanese History and Culture. She then shared that knowledge with us.

"It was really interesting," said Isaac Willoughby, "I've always enjoyed Japanese architecture and she had some great pictures and told us what the architecture was for and what it meant."
