Dr. Lori Cauthen, Katie Davis chosen top EOPs for 2015
The Union County Association of Educational Office Professionals has chosen Dr. Lori Cauthen and Katie Davis as this year’s Union County Educational Office Professionals of the Year.
Dr. Lori Cauthen, the director of Programs for Exceptional Children, was chosen as the Union County EOP Administrator of the Year, while Katie Davis, a Union County Public Schools legal administrative assistant, was named Union County Educational Office Professional of the Year.
The announcements were made at the annual Union County EOP’s Administrators banquet, held on May 4.
Cauthen was recognized for holding students to high expectations and for her belief that all students can and will succeed. Her message to students: It is not where you have been; it is where you are going and what you are going to do when you get there.
As a leader, Cauthen was commended for always seeking to know each staff member’s professional strengths and personal interests, and putting that knowledge to use when assigning duties.
“While holding all state and county expectations, her primary concern is serving students to the best of the county’s ability by finding correct programming and curricula for each child,” her nomination letter stated.
Davis was described as “incredibly organized and able to manage multiple large scale and detailed intensive projects at the same time. She accepts additional responsibilities with grace and a smile.”
In her nomination letter, Davis was acknowledged for always being willing to help and able to juggle her demanding professional responsibilities with personal and community obligations.
She was recognized as being the "resident expert on Google Docs and Excel spreadsheets.”
Both recipients were awarded a plaque commemorating these top awards.
