Charlotte Hornets Reading Revolution Visits BHESA

Benton Heights Elementary School of the Arts welcomed the Charlotte Hornets and Lowes Book bus to campus with their “Reading Revolution” educational program on Thursday, May 28th.   The show was filled with a lot of excitement and provided students with four reasons to make reading a part of daily life. Hugo and a guest appearance from Air Hugo filled our auditorium with rousing enthusiasm to always have a good book near you to read.  Hugo welcomed every student as they became members of his Reading Revolution.

“The level of excitement and engagement from our students provided an excellent way to promote reading as we begin summer break and prepare for next school year,” said Frank Casstevens, BHESA Arts Coordinator.

At the end of the show, Hugo selected students to visit the book bus and select a new book to take home and read.  BHESA would like to thank the Charlotte Hornets Education division and Lowes Corporation for their partnership in education and their hard work to promote literacy in our communities.
