Transportation Department Earns 99.51% Efficiency Rating for 2013-2014!
Each year, DPI (Department of Public Instruction) audits each transportation department across the state of North Carolina to see how efficiently they operate their fleet of buses.
The key indicators that factor into this rating is the number of students transported, the number of buses operated and the overall budget needed to fund the department for one year.
The data is used from the year prior to calculate the efficiency rating. This rating is directly tied to the amount of funding that the state supplies to each transportation department across North Carolina. With the already significant budget cuts that pupil transportation suffered in North Carolina this year, a high efficiency rating is critical to a safe and well-managed operation.
Congratulations to all Transportation Departmnet staff for their teamwork in maintaining this high level of effective and efficient operations.
