Smiling Faces - Open House
After several workdays of preparing and setting up their classroom teachers then had an opportunity on Thursday, August 20th to greet and meet their new students and families for the upcoming school year. Smiling faces were seen throughout the hallways and in classes as students and parents arrived for Open House. Parents had the chance to drop off school supplies early and start filling out paperwork as students looked around their new classroom and visited with previous classmates and new classmates. The parents had the chance to check for car rider tags, bus schedules and afterschool care, if needed. The media center was open for book check-out and the new write on table and stools were a big hit for students. Students also went by to say “Hi” get a hug or give a hug to teachers from other years. Everyone was excited for the new school year. The PTA parents provided breakfast to teachers to welcome them back on Tuesday, August 18th. They also set up a table at open house to share ways for families to get involved at Rocky River and about joining the PTA.
We are looking forward to Monday August 24th, for the first day of school for all first through fifth grade students. Kindergarten will have staggered entry throughout the week.
