RIP "I Can't"
Mrs. Plyler's class lays to rest "I Can't." They have made a committment to say they can do things.
On Friday afternoon, Mrs. Plyler's second grade class said goodbye and laid to rest "I can't". Throughout the first week of school, the class discussed and participated in activities focusing on working as a team, being positive, and building community within the classroom. The class also wrote their class mission statement which focused on having an "I can" attitude.
The students each wrote "I can't" on a notecard. Then the students brought their "I can't" notecards to the front of the room and placed them inside a jar that resembled a tombstone with the words "R.I.P. Here lies I can't". The class had a celebration afterwards making "I can" signs and talking about going forward in second grade always with the "I can" attitude just as they wrote in their mission statement.
>> R.I.P. I can't...because in Mrs. Plyler's class...WE CAN!
