Second Grade Kicks Off the New School Year!
Second Grade Kicks Off the Year
There is no better way to kick off the 2015-2016 school year than with a successful open house. On Thursday, August 20, anxious teachers, students, and parents gathered at “the trail” to meet each other and to learn about some of the exciting things that will happen this year. It was a highly anticipated day as teachers worked hard to get their classrooms ready and parents and students worked to gather materials and get used to a new schedule. All of the hard work paid off when everyone walked down the hallways that Thursday afternoon grinning from ear to ear. Parents and students were able to reconnect with old friends and teachers, as well as meeting new friends and teachers. Teachers could not have been more thrilled to see students from the past and meet the new ones that will soon represent their classes this year.
Another big hit was the photo booth that second grade teacher, Miss Mote set up for the open house. In front of the second grade classrooms, students and parents had the opportunity to take pictures with props under a sign that read “It’s going to be a fan-stache-tic year!” Parents emailed the photos that they took to their students’ new second grade teachers after posing themselves. The parents and students weren’t the only ones to jump in on the fun; many teachers enjoyed having their photos taken with their peers and new students. It is sure to be a great year at ITES!
