FHHS Beta Club Walks for MS
For the seventh consecutive year, the Forest Hills High School Beta Club participated in Walk MS, helping raise both awareness and money toward the walk's goal "to create a world free of MS." (Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic and unpredictable neurological disease that affects the central nervous system of approximately 400,000 Americans and of a possible 2.1 million worldwide.)
Held in Charlotte on Sat., May 15, 2010, the walk this year took participants through the beautiful Southpark area. 70 of the 80 Beta Club members participated in the walk along with their sponsor, English teacher Mrs. Mechele Tucker. As in previous years, the club was recognized as a top fundraising team. Beta members raised almost $1800 in last year's walk and are awaiting final tallies to see if they exceeded that amount this year.
