Football and Track Players Sign Scholarships

Adam Sainz and Coach Hardin


Four Weddington High athletes signed scholarships at a recent ceremony.  Track stars Breahna Morrison, Haley Kapheim, Brittany Sturdivant and football standout Adam Sainz are taking their abilities to the next level.  

Adam has committed to play at Tabor College in Kansas, which is a NAIA school.  He was a three-year starter on the varsity football team.  Adam played defensive end and fullback for the Warriors.  

Brittany signed with Wingate University, which will be the first year for the Track and Field team at Wingate.  Brittany holds school records in 4x100, 4x200 & 4x400.

Breahna signed with Appalachian State.  She led the Warriors to a 3A state championship in the 4x400 meter relay.  Breahna won state titles in the 400m outdoors & 300m indoors. Breahna holds school records in every event from 55m-800m and in all four relay events- 4x100, 4x200, 4x400 & 4x800.

Haley signed with UNC-Wilmington.  Haley holds school records in 1000m, 1600m, 4x400 & 4x800. Haley was named Southern Carolina Conference Track Athlete of the Year.  She helped the Warriors win the 3A state championship in the 4x400 meter relay.

All three girls ran Indoor & Outdoor Track for four years & Haley ran three years of Cross Country.
