Union County Public Schools named as "Pioneer Twenty" Confucius Classroom District

A reception was held at Marvin Ridge High School to discuss and share information about the new Hanban – Asia Society Confucius Classrooms Network. 

In recognition of their potential as model Chinese language programs for the U.S., with strong local leadership, demonstrated commitment to international exchange and collaboration, and global vision for the future, Union County Public Schools has been accepted as a member of the first cohort in the Hanban – Asia Society Confucius Classrooms Network. This national network of 100 exemplary Chinese language programs will be developed over the next three years, starting with 20 pioneer schools and districts that represent the future of Chinese language education in the United States

Marvin Ridge High School will establish a partner-school with China this summer in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. As a member of the Asia Society's Confucius Classroom, another UCPS school will have the option to develop a partnership with a different school in China next year.
