Butterflies Everywhere!

The second grade class just completed an exciting Science unit in which they studied the life cycle of butterflies. All seven second grade classes received a caterpillar for each student. The students observed and recorded in their journals the stages of metamorphosis. At the end of May all classes released their fully grown butterflies in the Learning Garden. If you walk through our garden you see one of the painted lady butterflies resting on a flower or rock.

Pictures is Mrs. McNeill's class releasing their butterflies and showing stories that they wrote about their butterflies. A student put his hand next to a butterfly in hopes of it holding it.
