Meet Our New Assistant Principal
On July 1, 2010, Mrs. Sheila Levesque was named Assistant Principal of Weddington Elementary School. She comes to us from Monroe Middle School, where she was an Assistant Principal for two years prior to this assignment.
Mrs. Levesque’s hometown is Watertown, Massachusetts. She is a Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. Needless to say, baseball and football seasons should be rather interesting in the front office!
Mrs. Levesque worked for ten years in the nursing field before she began her career in the educational field. She has worked for a total of eleven years in education, as she began teaching in Massachusetts. She then worked as a 5th grade teacher at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Charlotte and then at Rocky River Elementary in Monroe. Her philosophy in education is that all students can succeed; they just learn differently.
Her hobbies and interests include cooking, traveling, playing volleyball, and spending time with her family. She enjoys watching movies. Some of her favorite movies are “Pride and Prejudice,†“Little Women,†“Roman Holiday,†“The Notebook,†“Rain Man,†“The Blind Side,†and “Sixteen Candles.â€
She encourages students to do the best they can and be the best they can be. There is no goal that is unreachable and when they believe in themselves and others believe in them, they can reach for the stars.
Favorite Quotation: "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader."- John Quincy
