Cuthbertson Cares

Cuthbertson High School, Union County’s newest high school, has been active in seeking opportunities to make a difference in the community. Although it is currently the smallest high school in the county, it is already making a big difference in just its first year of operation. Cuthbertson High School recently teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to build a house in Monroe, North Carolina.

45 Cuthbertson High School students, 9 parent volunteers, and 3 teachers volunteered their time to help build a house for a local Union County family.  The family is led by a grandmother taking care of her three grandchildren after the tragic death of their mother.   The CHS students helped paint, cut down bushes, do yard work, plant seed, helped build a shed in the back yard and many other things for the duration of this project. The work was coordinated by Diane Scaduto, CHS parent and UCPS Media Assistant.
