Mrs. Christy Scruggs

Congratulations to Mrs. Christy Scruggs who has been named UCPS’ 2009-2010 Conference on Exceptional Children Nominee for the Exceptional Children’s Teacher of Excellence Award.  Christy has been an Exceptional Children’s teacher for six years working with children with special needs at Monroe Middle School where she also serves as the Exceptional Children’s Chairperson for the school.  “She has proven to be strong in her instruction as well as being a voice and advocate for each young adult.  She is highly organized, oversees the process of compliance, discipline, IEP meetings and addressing timelines for the variety of services for students with disabilities at Monroe Middle School,” said Exceptional Children’s Director, Dr. Nancy Turner.  Christy and her husband, Stan, have three boys.  Their youngest child, Larson, was just born on November 3, 2009.  Please join us in congratulating Christy on all of her many great achievements in her life this school year!
