Happy Retirement to Beth Rogers

Beth Rogers and Dr. Nancy Turner

After a total of 35 years of dedicated service and leadership devoted to working with children with special needs, Beth Rogers retired from UCPS on December 21, 2009.  Beth began her career with UCPS as one of the first special education teachers for the county in 1974 at Unionville Elementary School.  Beth left UCPS for a few shorts years but returned in 1997 as a program specialist in the Exceptional Children’s Department which is where she has spent the last 12 years with UCPS.  A Retirement Roast was held in Beth’s honor at the Hilltop restaurant in Monroe on November 17, 2009.  A plaque was presented to Beth that reads, “We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your selfless contributions and leadership which have been a beacon that has guided us all.”  Beth will be greatly missed by all who know her and all who had the opportunity to work with her.  “I have enjoyed working with everyone and I will miss everybody but it is time,” said Beth.  We wish Beth the best of luck in her future endeavors.
