Archived Stories for Union County Public Schools
What used to be mostly sleepy faces entering the gymnasium each morning, has transformed into awake and bright faces, excited to see whose turn it is to participate in the new "Morning Movement." Students still come in and make neat rows, but they wait to see whose turn it is to get up and practice their jump rope skills. On the sidelines we have fourth and fifth graders practicing their handstands. When it’s kindergarten or PreK’s turn, the fifth graders eagerly pair up to help. It has transformed not only our morning meeting place, but how our students enter their classrooms: ready to learn.
