Marshville is a Global Partners School
The staff and students at Marshville Elementary School were recently recogized for their participation in the 2009-2010 UCPS Global Schools program by receiving a plaque which designated us as a UCPS Global Partners School. At the beginning of the past school year, Dr. Ed Davis, Superintendent of Union County Public Schools along with the UCPS Globalization Committee, challenged each school to bring global education to the classroom. As a result of this challenge each of our classrooms selected a country of study and spent time throughout the year learning about that country and comparing it to the United States. Each school earned points for participation in various activities throughout the year which ultimately led to achieving one of the following school designations: UCPS International School (75+ points), UCPS Global Partners School (50-74 points), UCPS Global Affiliate School (35-49 points), and UCPS Goodwill Ambassador School (25-34 points). We will continue our global schools initiative this school year. Ask your student questions about the country they are studying throughout the school year! We look forward to learning about our new countries this school year and are excited to share our new knowledge with you! Congratulations to our staff and students on your accomplishments during the 2009-2010 school year. Our goal this year is to earn the designation of UCPS International School!
