Constitution Day

Patriotic hats made by students in Ellen Sanford's class.

Each year in the United States Constitution Day is celebrated on September 17. On Friday, September 17, 2010 at Poplin Elementary, students learned about the Constitution in the classroom and also by watching plays performed by the Union County Community Arts Council.

Students in grades K-2 watched The Lady of Bullyburg while the older students in grades 3-5 watched Jack’s Adventure in American History.

Sydney Lee, a third-grader in Laura Bone’s class, said the plays “helped me learn more about history and how things happened.” Throughout the school the daily learning activities centered on the Constitution.

In Ellen Sanford's class students made patriotic hats while learning about the Constitution.
