Tarradiddle Players Present Tomás and the Library Lady

Friday, Parkwood Middle 6th grade students enjoyed a presentation from the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. Tomás and the Library Lady, by award-winning author Pat Mora, is a true story based on the early life of Tomas Rivera. Rivera was born in 1935 in Crystal City, Texas to farm laborer parents. He frequently traveled with them during his childhood to various farms throughout the Midwest. Rivera eventually became a teacher and by the late 1960’s had earned several college degrees. Rivera would go on to become the youngest person in the state of California to hold the position of the Chancellor of University of California. Tarradiddle Players is a professional Touring Company of the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte.
