Piedmont Gearing Up For Fall BBQ

The Piedmont BBQ will be held on Friday, October 22. Students had the opportunity to receive six BBQ tickets in their 2nd block class on Friday to sell for the event. Students who sell six tickets will be entered to win several great prizes and will receive a free 4th block. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased from any Piedmont student or staff member or by calling Jennifer Guignard at 704-753-2810.
Last year, the two Piedmont BBQ events raised over $30,000 and helped purchase 30 new computers for teachers. Proceeds from this year’s BBQ events will also go towards purchasing new technology for classrooms.
The first high tickets sales deadline is Friday, October 8. Students who have turned in money for selling six tickets will be entered into a drawing to win an athletic season pass.  The season pass will be good for free admission to a sport season of the student's choice, for example, free admission to all baseball games or all basketball games, etc. One per grade level will be awarded. The second high ticket sales date is Tuesday, October 19 when a drawing for additional prizes will be held.
Students also have the opportunity to earn extra credit points by bringing in cakes for the BBQ.  Students must bring in only cakes that meet the following guidelines:
  • Store bought
  • Be from the deli section and not from the bread or freezer section of the store
  • No angel food cake
  • No frosting on the whole cake
  • No load cake
  • We want a round cake - some stores call it a pound cake, others call it a cream cake.
  • Cake must not be opened, tampered with, nor partially eaten.  Only a whole cake will be accepted for extra credit points.
  • Cake must have a good usage date.  No cakes will be accepted with a passed expiration date.

Cakes should be brought to Room 112 of the new gym lobby on Thursday, October 21st before 8:20 a.m.

Corporate deliveries are available for orders of 10 or more within a 15-mile radius. Interested businesses can download an order form and send/email/contact Jennifer Guignard. Please make plans to purchase BBQ tickets and help support Piedmont High School!
