Superintendent Dr. Ed Davis held the first Superintendent’s Student Advisory meeting Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, bringing about 60 UCPS students from each of the county’s 11 high schools to serve in an advisory capacity, offering insight about the school system and educational issues from a student’s perspective.

Students meet once a quarter to share concerns and their viewpoints on improving the high school experience. In this first meeting with Davis, students introduced themselves and spent time getting to know each other.

Future meetings will include dialog with Davis on everything from the school system’s budget challenges to discussions about obstacles that may impede academic success for students.
