National School Lunch Week: Latino Food On The Menu to Celebrate Diversity/Globalization

Students enjoy Latino Lunch in Cafeteria

As part of the UCPS Global Schools initiative and National School Lunch Week, the Porter Ridge Middle School cafeteria staff planned a Latino theme to make today’s lunch menu special. The students were all smiles as they selected Chicken Enchiladas, Nachos and other favorites. To entice students to eat a healthy, balanced meal Mrs. Watts will be entering all students’ names into a drawing if they purchase lunch this week. On Friday, three names will be selected and winners announced for special prizes. November’s theme will be Chinese. Students will have the opportunity to use chopsticks along with the foods that will be served and there will be fortune cookies for desert.
