4th Grade Girls Reach out to Help Carolina Paws
The summer heat did not slow down seven Marvin Elementary 4th Grade girls who welcomed the warmth as it helped boost their sales at their Snow Cone Stand!
The idea struck the girls one afternoon when they couldn’t find anything to do. Instead of hanging inside or watching TV, they wanted to use their time to help others. The idea for a snow cone stand quickly was formed. A few girls had snow cone makers while the others eagerly volunteered to bring ice, cookies and lemonade. On Wednesday July 21st, the snow cone stand opened for business and for the following 2 hours had a steady stream of customers. In total, the girls raised $187.88 which will all be donated to Carolina Paws, a non-profit organization that helps rescue and adopt animals. Although tired and sticky by the end of the day, the girls were thrilled by all the donations. Many thanks to all who came out to support the girls!
