Union County Public Schools has only one school in improvement status for the 2010/2011 school year.

Great news! Union County Public Schools has only one school in improvement status for the 2010/2011 school year.  Benton Heights Elementary School of the Arts is in school of improvement.  The school must make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for two years in a row in math to come out of the school of improvement status.

Under the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law, Benton Heights Elementary School of the Arts must offer public school choice with free transportation to all parents of students enrolled at the school.  Also, UCPS will offer free tutoring services to students receiving free or reduced-priced lunch. (Eligible families may transfer to another school or receive free tutoring services, but not both.  A letter was mailed to all parents on July 6th, outlining the options above.  You may view this letter by clicking on the link to the right (School Choice Letter Benton Heights Elementary Schools of the Arts 2010/2011).
