Crows Beware! The Scarecrows Are Here!

So cute!

While our first through fifth graders were having their Book Character Day, our kindergarten classes were having their annual Scarecrow Day!  The kindergarten hallway was alive with scarecrows and a lot of straw.  Teachers and teacher assistants, as well as some mothers, participated as well.  It was a day full of fun, full of activity, and full of learning!

The kindergarten teachers use this day in their Fall curriculum.  They read books about Fall and scarecrows, and incorporate many instructional activities around this theme.  The culminating event is a trip to the Aw Shucks Corn Maize.  Pumpkin activities are also studied, as well as a farm unit.  The students always love this day, and the teachers work hard to make it fun.  Thank you kindergarten teachers!
