Assistant Principal, Stacie Thompson with Danielle Smith, grant winner

Union Power Cooperative awarded two grants to teachers here at PRMS. Danielle Smith received a recycling grant for $484. Ms. Smith states, “I submitted a grant application for a recycling team I would like to start here at PRMS. I am hoping to use this team of ‘Eco-Pirates’ to help teach the school community about the importance of recycling and tips on how to conserve our natural resources.” Mr. Sherrin received a technology grant for $400. Mr. Sherrin states, “After receiving our tablet laptops this year I wanted to make the most of it, so I applied for the Union Power Cooperative Bright Ideas Grant. With the money I will be purchasing wireless projection equipment for my classroom.”
Union Power Cooperative received over 100 applications and only awarded eighteen grants in five counties. What an accomplishment to receive two out of the eighteen!
