The Piedmont High School FFA was awarded 2 stars by the National Chapter Award program.  The program recognizes FFA chapters that successfully complete an annual Program of Activities which includes a series of activities designed to encourage its members to grow as individuals, to work as part of a team, and to serve others.  There are three components of the National Chapter Award: Student Development, Chapter Development, and Community Development.  Each component helps the FFA chapter identify areas in which students can benefit the most and help them mature as young adults.  The National Chapter award provides areas of measurable growth in scholarship, agricultural career skills, leadership, healthy lifestyles, citizenship, agriculutural awareness, environmental activities and human resources.

The Piedmont FFA Chapter completed and documented at least 15 activities in the National Chapter Award program and received a State Superior Chapter Award certificate from their North Carolina FFA association.  NC FFA also bestowed upon Piedmont FFA the honor of Gold ranking.  After being judged at the National FFA level, Piedmont FFA was awarded the honor of 2-stars.  Congratulations to all the efforts of Piedmont FFA who's focus can be summed up in their mission statement: "To make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premiere leadership, personal growth, and career success."
