Let the Voting Begin!

Erin Parker, in Gina Vestuti's 3rd grader class, takes a minute to vote for her favorite gingerbread house.

The voting has begun!

The 2nd Annual Gingerbread Contest has begun and the students couldn't be more excited! With an overwhelming 56 houses to vote for in many sizes, shapes and decorations - it gives the students a lot to choose from!

The rules of the competition are simple, take any size cardboard box and create it into a gingerbread house. They can use anything they want to decorate it as long as it isn't a food or candy product. Popular decorations include buttons, beads, pom poms, cottonballs, glitter, plastic candy, and some houses even have lights!

Sydney Shaw and Caydence Blackmon in Mrs. McNeill's second grade class were excited to come in and vote. Caydence likes the contest because "It's fun!" and Sydney says "It's cool to see how the different people make their houses".

Students can come in anytime up through December 9th to vote for their favorite three gingerbread houses. Votes will be tallied up and the three houses with the most votes will win the book "The Gingerbread Man" written by Jim Aylesworth and a real gingergread house kit.

The competition is located in the Media Center and we welcome everyone to come in and take a look!
