Stallings Elementary Has a Heart for Giving

Students, parents and staff gave generously to the "Shoe Tree."

A letter went home giving parents, students and staff a chance to give back to others who otherwise might not have a good holiday. Stallings is participating in a Food and Toy Drive for the Christmas Bureau from Monday, December 6th till Tuesday, December 14th.  The purpose of this drive is to collect food and toys for families in need in Union County. The Christmas Bureau is asking for food items that are nonperishable (canned foods and dry items, such as flour), and they need toys that are new or in like new condition. They especially need items for teenagers. If you would like to volunteer at the Christmas Bureau, please contact them at 704-291-9041.

Food items can be sent to your child’s classroom. Toys will need to be sent to Mrs. Nichol’s office. Food and toys can also be dropped off at the after school program.

Holiday Shoe Tree - This year our school has decided to have a new shoe drive. We will be collecting new or like new shoes to be used for our students in need at Stallings Elementary. A pair could be purchased by an individual or by a group of people. Our goal would be to get one pair of shoes in each size for boys and girls. We will be having sized paper shoes hanging on the tree in the office for people to select from. The donated shoes would then be placed under the tree.

Please understand that participation in these programs is strictly voluntary. We are aware of the generosity of this school’s community, and we are very appreciative of all that you do for those in need.

Holiday Needs - If you are in need of assistance, please let Mrs. Nichols know immediately, and she will see what options are available at this time.
