Logan is Dale Jarrett Student of the Month
“Logan is funny and he dresses nice†said Brennan Kennison a 7th grade student and classmate of Logan Plattenburg, winner of the Dale Jarrett Student of the Month award. That may be true, but that is not why he was chosen Student of the Month by Dale Jarrett.
Each month teachers and administrators across Union County nominate elementary, middle and high school students for the Dale Jarrett award and each month only one student from each level is awarded the title “Student of the Monthâ€.
This month the middle school selection was Logan Plattenburg, a 7th grade student at MRMS. In November, Logan was chosen by the teachers on his grade level team to receive our school Student of the Month recognition. “Logan is just a great student. He always does what he can to make others feel welcome, he is kind to everyone and his positive attitude brightens the room every dayâ€, said Diane Hooker, Logan’s math teacher. Counselors, Sarah Morris and Maria Lovaglio agreed that Logan was a perfect candidate for the Dale Jarrett program and sent his nomination through.
On Friday, Dec 3, Jeremy Rimmer, a representative from Dale Jarrett arrived during lunch to present Logan with his award in front of the entire 7th grade class. The announcement was greeted by warm applause as all his classmates joined in recognizing Logan as Student of the Month. In addition to a plaque, Logan also received a $50 Visa gift card and $50 GC to Barnes and Noble from Dale Jarrett. Logan is not sure what he will spend his money but all agree that the award is well deserved.
