Christmas in Europe!
Ms. Faulkner's 1st grade class participated in Christmas activities that revolved around how each of their adopted countries in Europe (Italy, France, Holland, and England) celebrate the holiday season.
The nativity scene was first used as a symbol of Christmas in Italy. The students wrote what they would give to a special person in their lives after hearing about the 3 wise men.
England was the first country to send Christmas cards to family members and loved ones so students made their own cards.
Holland was where Santa Claus originated so students got to make a Santa Claus craft.
In France children decorate their trees with fruits, pine cones, lights and stars. The students made their own tree and decorated it with these things.
