Future Make-up Days
Effectively immediately, if a day of school is missed in a given week (Monday – Thursday), the Saturday of that same week will be utilized as a make-up day. The schedule for the make-up Saturday will be as follows: All schools will begin their school day at the regular time and school will be dismissed 3 ½ hours earlier than the regular dismissal time.
For example, a school whose schedule is 7:30 am to 2:00 pm will operate from 7:30 am until 10:30 am. On the make-up Saturday, breakfast will be served, but lunch will not and the After School Program will not operate.
If we miss school on a Friday only, the day will be made up on Saturday of the following week.
If we miss more than one day in a given week, one day will be made up on the Saturday of that week and additional days will likely be made up on subsequent Saturdays. In this event, further information and confirmation will be communicated to all schools and posted on the UCPS and all schools’ websites. This applies to the traditional, year-round, and early college calendars.
