Athletes Sign Football Scholarship Letters
Lucas Fisher, Jacob Brewer, and Stewart Hinson signed Division I football scholarship letters-of-intent on Wednesday, February 2 in the Panther Room at Piedmont High School. The student-athletes were joined by family, friends, and coaches as they celebrated their athletic accomplishments. Lucas Fisher signed with Duke University, Jacob Brewer signed with Campbell University, and Stewart Hinson signed with East Carolina University.
The three Piedmont football players joined 18 other seniors in Union County who also signed national letters-of-intent to accept athletic scholarships. Sitting among family and friends, the three Piedmont football stars were asked to comment on their accomplishment. Lucas Fisher thanked his friends and then stated “I want to thank all the coaches, my family, grandparents, and teammates who made it a great season.†Likewise, Brewer thanked his family, neighbors, friends, and coaches and replied, “I’ve been through a lot in my high school football career and I am blessed to be able to do this.†Hinson thanked everyone who supported him throughout his high school football career and added, “We really didn’t even know how to play football when we got here so thanks to all the coaches and my family for helping me get to this point.â€
Fisher plans to major in Chemistry while playing football at Duke, Hinson plans to study Health & Fitness at ECU, while Brewer will study Biology at Campbell University. The entire Piedmont community would like to congratulate Lucas, Jacob, and Stewart on their great football careers as a Piedmont Panther!
