Student Council is Giving Back to the Community!

Visiting the Enquirer Journal.

Prospect’s Student Council has been busy this year! Led by Janet Jonas (5th grade teacher) and Julie Pawlowski (4th grade teacher), the classroom representatives of grades 3-5 have been working on their initiative of “Giving Back to Our Community.”

Each month the student council honors groups in their community. In October they thanked the Sandy Ridge Fire Department, November the Monroe Police Department, December the elderly at Union Park, January the Union County Health Department, and in February the Enquirer Journal.

It has been a wonderful experience for the students. They are able to go out and meet the people that make their community special. It also lets our community know that the students at Prospect Elementary care about them.

There are many more “Thank You’s” yet to be given in the upcoming months. Who knows, maybe you’ll be next!
