Health Occupations Students Explore Career Options
South Piedmont Community College (SPCC) brought the Health Care Programs Bus to Piedmont High School. Health Occupations students visited the bus to see the health career programs offered at SPCC. Students were able to see simulation mannequins used to teach how to obtain accurate blood pressures. There was also a mannequin that can be programmed to cough, choke, have tachycardia (fast heart beat) and vomit. Students can then assess the mannequin and determine what problems he was experiencing. Lexi Haggard reports the tour gave great insight into the programs offered at SPCC. Former students Nikki Taylor and Blair Crook were among the SPCC students helping with the bus tour. Students received pens, pencils and literature about SPCC.
