A Visit from Dumbledor
Carolina Raptor Center is dedicated to environmental stewardship and the conservation of birds of prey through education, research, and the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned raptors. Heather and Amber visited Rocky River, with Dumbledor, the Great Horned Owl, as well as several other birds of prey. We learned about each bird's habitat, his eating habits and what he would do in the wild. The birds were beautiful and we really enjoyed seeing all of them.
You can take a self guided tour and see over 23 different species of raptors on the 3/4 mile long nature trail nestled inside of Latta Plantation Nature Preserve on the banks of Mountain Island Lake. It's just 15 minutes away from Uptown Charlotte.
