Pre-K students celebrate Read Across America Day
Students in Mrs. Felker and Mrs. Faulkner’s Pre-K class celebrated Read Across America Day on March 2 with some fun activities. They read several books by Dr. Seuss and made Cat in the Hat hats.
They read books with their 3rd grade buddy class and made green eggs and ham. A lot of the students were unsure about trying a green food but most ended up liking it.
“I really like Dr. Seuss and the rhyming words in his books,†one student said.
By reading to students at a young age students begin to build literacy skills that lay the foundation and help students develop a love for reading.
