Third Grade International Festival
Third Grade participated in an International Festival at the end of February. Each third grade student researched a country from his/her ancestry. The students spent two months researching and preparing a typed written report, a colorful tri-fold display, a recipe, and other reflective writings. On the night of the International Festival, students dressed in the traditional clothing of their countries. They performed three songs (one in Swahili and one in Chinese) for the parents. The parents were later invited for a stroll “around the world†where they had an opportunity to view the student tri-folds in the gymnasium. To close out the Festival, students and parents returned to their classrooms and enjoyed international snacks. The Third Grade teachers would like to thank Mrs. Adcox for all of her hard work in preparing the students for their International Festival vocal performance. We had a great night!
