African Culture Lives at Marvin
Mr. Dave (Devraj Vaghela) is one of the UCPS facilities staff who came to Marvin to share his knowledge with all of us. He is from the East Africa area from a country named Tanzania. He told us he can speak over 7 languages and then went on to teach us some common words, how to count and animal names in Swahli. He shared with us a beautiful blue colored cloth that the Indian women wear as a dress. Mr. Dave showed us two small musical instruments called the piano and the whistle. It was so much fun to learn about the life and culture of another land that is so far away. Thank you Mr. Dave for sharing your time with us. Mr. Dave has given presentations that were well received, at several other UCPS schools -both elementary and middle. We were honored to have him here with us.
