A Christmas Carol
The Marvin Ridge Middle School seventh grade AIG communication skills classes explored the Victorian Era while reading A Christmas Carol. Students left behind the 21st Century blue jeans, technology, music, and fast food in order to portray a citizen of the Victorian times and attend a celebration hosted by the newly transformed Ebenezer Scrooge.
Students described their life as it would have been during the Victorian Era, how they first met Scrooge, and the difference they have seen in Scrooge since his encounter with the ghosts. The unit culminated on December 18 with a Victorian style party. Thanks to Anne Berryhill for sharing this story.
