"Kicking to Africa"

Jagged Pearls went global in March. “Kicking to Africa” was a community service project in which the group asked each class to raise $10 to purchase kickballs for children in Africa.

One of the Jagged Pearl members, Lacie Rogers, learned in her class that in Africa a whole tribe may share one ball. "I think it is sad that they only have one ball, and we should help them," said Lacie.

A local church is going on a mission trip to Africa this summer; they will deliver the kickballs and teach the children how to play. Jagged Pearls raised $170. The church group will be taking 34 kickballs to Africa.
