Sun Valley FCCLA Winners are California Bound
Sun Valley High School's FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) winners Danielle Caro, Sierra Simers and Rosy Hernandez won the state competitions in Greensboro, NC on March 30th. Their area of competition was "Advocacy" and their topic was helping the homeless in Union County. The students have donated their time at shelters and raised money to buy essentials for those in need.
They will now travel to Anaheim, California, with advisor Linda O'Keeffe, to compete in the national competitions being held July 10-14, 2011. Efforts are currently under way to raise funds for their expenses and for their advocacy project titled,"Helping Hands". If you would like to assist them in their efforts, contact Sun Valley High School (704-296-3020) and state whether your contribution is for the competition or "Helping Hands". All proceeds donated to "Helping Hands" will go directly to the needs of the homeless in our community.
