April Showers Bring Wonderful Gifts to Rock Rest Elementary!

Jillian Froelick of Weddington recently embarked upon a three-month mission trip to Tanzania. In preparing for the trip, it was her desire to supply the children she would be privileged to work with in the local schools there with books and school supplies. Volunteers throughout the Union County district donated boxes and boxes of books, paper, pencils, and other school supplies.

Unfortunately, due to government regulations in Tanzania, the supplies could not be delivered. Fortunately, a neighbor of Jillian’s just happens to be John Collins, a Union County Public Schools board member. He suggested the supplies be donated to a local school, and Rock Rest was chosen to receive them.

Staff members are so appreciative of these wonderful gifts, and feel they have been “showered upon” with great resources that will benefit the students and teachers at Rock Rest in so many ways. A huge thank you to Jillian and her mother, Diane Froelick, for this wonderful gesture of kindness!
