Western Union Elementary's Best
Western Union proudly boasts three UCPS Teacher of the Year recipients. According to Mrs. Rita Webb, Prinicpal, the distinguished award of Teacher of the Year is based on commitment, heartfelt dedication and the intesity demonstrated by daily educators. Western Union is filled with these individuals. This award is presented to one individual in a school who is recognized and viewed by their peers to be outstanding. Western Union proudly recognizes Ms. Jennifer Bunn as the 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Bunn has been teaching at Western Union for four years. She currently serves as a 4th grade teacher. She has transitioned from a shy, reserved individual to a "spark plug." She has continued to explore ways to improve herself, students, and the school. Ms. Bunn serves in several instrumental roles including reviewing data, curriculum planning and providing extra activities school wide to challenge all students. She is truly deserving of her accolades received on April 26.
Ms. Baines, whose home school is Weddington Elementary, is shared with Western Union as an Art Teacher. Ms. Carmichael, whose home school is Wesley Chapel Elementary, teaches PE at Western Union. While two of these award winning teachers do not call Western Union their full time home school, we would like to acknowledge their exceptional efforts, commitment and dedication they bring to Western Union. Although they are not at Western Union every day, they enthusiastically give their all when they are here.
The staff greatly appreciates their collaboration and cooperation with their part-time school. Most importantly out students are most fortunate because they are learning from three of Union County's absolute best. Each of these individuals proudly endorse Western Union's motto as they continuously, "Give Their Best and Nothing Less."
Congratulations Ms. Bunn, Ms. Baines and Ms. Carmichael. Western Union honors you!
